Georges leads EKP’s regional Policy and Governments practice focusing on regulatory and compliance issues, government policy matters and related projects where he offers a wide range of experience both in Lebanon and the UAE. Moreover, he heads EKP's dispute resolution department in Lebanon.
Georges started his career as a judge in Lebanon for 17 years where he presided over the First Instance Tribunal in Beirut. He then resigned to pursue a career in the legal profession and was soon thereafter appointed as Head of the Strategic Planning and Performance Management bureau in Abu Dhabi in 2010. In the same year, he was also appointed as Abu Dhabi Judicial Department’s Undersecretary for the Technical Office. He was then appointed as adviser to the Minister of Justice in the UAE in 2014 and served in this position until 2018. In 2018, Georges ran for the general legislative elections in Lebanon and was successfully elected as a Parliament Member in the Lebanese Parliament representing the circumscription of Zahle. He is currently appointed to serve as a member of the Justice and Administration, Foreign Affairs and Human Rights parliamentary committees and is heavily involved in Judicial Independence and Public Administration legislative reforms.
Georges is a member of multiple organizations in the legal and judicial fields. He is also a regular lecturer at various Lebanese Universities and legal and legislative fora. His passion for social justice and his practical and pragmatic approach to the law as a tool to better the lives of people place him in a unique position to make a tangible difference by practicing law and being active in the legislative life of his country.
Georges has a solid experience working on regulatory, government, corporate and commercial law matters and has an outstanding record in handling complex litigation and arbitration.
Georges is admitted to the Beirut Bar Association and is fluent in Arabic, English and French.
